"Jesus wants me for a sunbeam, to shine for him each day"

Max's Birthday 2002 Simon Leo Kofford was born on February 18, 1998 and left us in a tragic drowning accident in Little Cottonwood Canyon on Sunday, June 23, 2002. We loved him so much and will miss his energetic, smiling face every day of our lives. He liked to play in the backyard with his brothers and sisters and he liked popcorn, Trix yogurt and bologna. Simon was fascinated with tools, machinery, and vehicles of all types. He often carried his tool box or his backpack filled with his camping gear. Trains and road building equipment were a passion. Life was an adventure to Simon. He always wanted to learn about everything around him, was insistent in his questioning and enjoyed having books read to him.
He is survived by his parents, Greg and Cynthia Kofford and his brothers and sisters, Whitney, Max, Alex, Samantha, and Miranda. Also survived by many loving grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Please write down any memories you have of our sweet boy and record them at www.koffordbooks.com/simon. Pictures of Simon are also available on the website. The family is very grateful to the hundreds of volunteers who helped search for Simon and the generous outpouring of love and prayers from countless others. Services will be Wednesday, July 3, at Crescent Stake Center, 10945 South 1700 East, Sandy at 11:00 am. Friends may call Tuesday, July 2 from 6-9 pm and Wednesday, July 3 from 9-11 am at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Simon Kofford Memorial Fund at Zion's Bank or PO Box 1362, Draper, Ut 84020. All proceeds will go to the LDS Perpetual Education Fund. God be with us until we can be with you again in heaven our little one.
